The official visit of the Chief of General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev to Italy continues, AzVision.az reports, referring to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
During the visit, the Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army held a meeting with Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano, who currently serves as the Secretary General of Defence/National Armaments Director.
Valiyev congratulated Portolano on his appointment as the Chief of Defense of the Italian Armed Forces and wished him success in the new position.
The meeting addressed a variety of other topics, including the continued development of military-technical cooperation between the two nations. The parties expressed their confidence in the fruitful continuation of their collaboration.
Later, a military delegation from Azerbaijan visited the Joint Operations Command (JOC) in Italy, where they were briefed on the command's operations.
